Charles City Staff
Paul & Heidi Mehmen, owners
Paul started working for local contractors while still in high school back in the early 80’s. After graduating from Nashua he completed college at Calmar with a degree in Building Materials management. His career in sales began at a local yard in Charles City where later he met and married Heidi Hammel in 1989. His career moved them to several locations in Minnesota and by 1991 they were ready to come back to Iowa and open Superior Lumber in Marble Rock, IA.
They both worked the counter and ran deliveries, along with having a daughter Katelyn in 1994. They then moved in 1996 to there present location in Charles City.

Nick Zirbel
Nick started outside in the warehouse coordinating deliveries and loading trucks. He moved into a sales position later on and is in charge of the rental center for the Charles City store. He is also a certified salesman for Stihl Power Tools. Nick is always ready to talk possibilities and do estimating for your next project.

Kim Vance
Kim joined the Charles City team in 2008. She works in the office taking
care of shipping and receiving along with various other tasks. She also
helps up front at the sales counter and in the rental center.

Dick Herrick
Dick has been around the lumber business for 35 years in several aspects; builder, contractor, building component manufacturing and outside sales. He also does computer layouts for kitchens, remodels, homes etc. He is always available to measure and estimate your next project with ease.

Kathy Girkin - office manager
Kathy joined the New Hampton team in 2011. Kathy is responsible for shipping and receiving, and assists at the front counter. She brings drafting experience along with kitchen and bath design experience.

Clear Lake Staff
Cheryl Nesbit
Cheryl has been working as an account payable and receivable office manager for 33 years and stayed on with Superior Lumber Clear Lake in 2012.
Gene Warner
Gene has brought 21 year of experience estimating when he stayed on with Superior Lumber Clear Lake in 2012. He is also a Circle of Excellence Dealer for Andersen and Eagle Windows and Doors that handles service and warranty issues by being part of the DSN. Gene will remain helping everyone who walks through the doors with everything from estimating a new addition to working the inside counter.
Jessi Holmes
Jessi is the newest addition to the Clear Lake family working as a Drafter and the inside counter sales. She has had 15 years of drafting/construction background from concrete all the way up to roofs. Jessi will be ready to layout any area you want to redecorate or build.
